When McDonald’s arrived in our country, on May 23rd, 1991, little or nothing was known about fast-food services. Not many Portuguese could have imagined 29 years ago that someday you would be able to go to a restaurant and eat without using cutlery or even buy a meal without leaving the car.
With the opening of its first restaurant in the CascaiShopping mall, McDonald’s introduced a new restaurant concept based on the principles of Quality, Service, Cleanliness, and Value focusing on consumers, where the whole family is welcome, in an informal and relaxed environment, at accessible prices.
These principles were established over 50 years ago by the founder of McDonald’s, Ray Kroc, and have enabled the brand to fulfill its goal that is to ensure the best fast food experience in our country. The Portuguese have quickly become involved with the brand and adjusted to a new way of eating out. Twenty-nine years later and McDonald’s Portugal is now embedded in the local economy and communities occupying a relevant position in the fast-food business.
The good outcome and success of McDonald’s Portugal lead to generated wealth for the country, vitalization of the local economy, the creation of jobs and career opportunities, and investment in local suppliers

A Palhinha de Massa ( The Edible Pasta Straw ) was born to encourage and contribute to the drastic reduction of consumption of plastic straws.
We approach this issue from both sides – encouraging consumers to use less or completely stop using plastic straws and at the same time, by proposing to companies to stop making plastic straws available, adopting ecological and sustainable alternatives.
PASTA IS BETTER!
Nowadays, the serious problem with the carefree use of plastic by our society isn’t new. Plastic straws are an unnecessary convenience, which has a great impact on the environment. They are a product of short and single-use, around 15 minutes, but they last on our planet for more than 50 years.
We can’t pretend we don’t know what we are doing, and we have to stop this situation.

In a time when it’s urgent to take action to save our planet, how can Three Land change the world?
Since the day we step foot on this land, we use resources, energy, and space. Once we grow into adulthood the Earth has given us so much that the least we can do is to give back. But then again, how can we change this? Alone we can’t. But imagine what we can do if we stop being just a company and evolve into a movement. At Three Land, we are taking a small step to change the world and we need you to step in.
The three generations’ commitment works in a simple way: it starts with your actions, which will become values for your children and a true legacy for your children’s children. By making conscious choices for ourselves and the ones we love we are showing them what really matters. That’s why Three Land Model Zero is no ordinary shoe. It is a movement.
This sneaker is 100% vegan, entirely made with recycled and sustainable materials, with a simple, genderless and comfortable design, made to last and, most importantly, made for everyone. The same model fits all, variating only in size and color, for you to buy a pair and keep it for as long as you can, without thinking of fashion trends but instead keeping your mind (and feet) on our planet.
With a fair price and conscious production and delivery, we are asking you one little thing in return: that you use your Model Zero and give one to a future generation. It can be your child, your nephew, your friend’s kid. It’s them who will continue to change the world. It’s them who will tell their kids how it’s done.
With you, the change starts now. Be the first generation to commit. Give an example. They will follow. For us, for our children and for our children’s children.
GREENSENSE encourages contact with a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle.

Sustainability is also a very important aspect for us and that is why we use recycled and 100% recyclable packaging, taking care of the environment, your health and everyone’s future. We work with love and we cherish our planet and this defines our products.

Pás is a Portuguese brand of kitchen tools and home accessories. Manufactured in the heart of Sintra, our pieces are made with various types of wood originating from different sources, all sustainable.

Woodmood was born from the idea of creating new and original objects from natural and noble material such as wood. It resulted in a mix between my training and professional experience in the area of management and environmental education, along with the fact that
my father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were master carpenters and joiners.
Since I was little I got used to seeing shapes, plains, and sawdust, but my passion for a more sustainable way of life led me to study another area and not follow this family tradition. Later, as the roots call me, I started to imagine a concept that mixes the environmental issues, with a more creative vocation and the wood upcycle came naturally.
One day, on a walk on the beach in the morning with my small kid, we grab some logs and pieces of wood and take it home. We built a robot together, the first Robo wood. We had so much positive feedback from friends who requested other Robo woods. That it was the beginning of the WoodMood story. We believe that a major necessary and urgent change is achieved with many small changes, with many small ideas and contributions.
Creating alternatives, promoting alerts, opening up possibilities, spreading a positive message of hope and that a better world is possible for everyone. WoodMood creates objects from natural materials that are at the end of the consumer cycle that would end up being burned or on the land field.
We created original pieces that make these materials return to the consumption cycle, avoiding removing new natural resources in Nature. The whole process of creating WooodMood pieces is done with our hands and heart 🙂
From looking for raw materials in the most unlikely places to collecting, cleaning, preparing, artwork and finishing … We are in the whole process and we love all these steps! Sometimes strangers contact us because they have seen an abandoned piece of furniture next to a garbage container, or because they have a bunch of old wood boards in a corner of a garden for years without knowing what to do with them, or someone replaces an old wooden roof and is sorry that those huge beams just be discarded … And we love going to the places and meeting people and giving a new life to these noble materials. And sometimes we go hunting for wood … in beach cleaning actions, or when it is time to do the pruning in the gardens and collect branches and trunks for example for our hangers, or when someone cuts a tree and would simply throw it away, or when we cross old houses that are abandoned or being restored … there is precious wood full of potential everywhere!
We just have to be aware :)After the pick-up phase starts the job of cleaning and preparing the wood. The boards often have to stay in a purge chamber to make sure that little creatures that feed on the wood are not left … Then the wood is kept waiting for their turn to be reborn. In the meantime, there is the entire creative process of inventing new objects, although WoodMood is best known for its boards with phrases … and these quotes and thoughts reach us from everywhere: proposals from customers and friends, books or films we come across, discoveries on the net, everything that tells us something at that creative moment can win a new life and purpose being painted on a beautiful and old piece of nature, like wood.
We are part of Circular Economy Portugal. We collect our raw material in carpentry, sawmills, abandoned warehouses, next to garbage containers … We also collect wood from land cleaning and also from maintenance and cleaning services of public gardens, urban green spaces and authorized cleaning of forests.
We have “Portugal Sou Eu” certification, confirming the national origin of our 100% handmade work. We have an artisan card and we are a Craft Productive Unit. We are also part of the “Natural.PT” brand, a certification by the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests that highlights the most sustainable products and services of local origin, integrated into protected areas in Portugal.
We make workshops in schools about building simple wood objects with old wood, a very special opportunity to talk to children about the importance of trees and forests, and our impacts on environment and how we can contribute to a life with less impact and contribute to regenerate what we, as a species, have done and are doing wrong.

PAPSTAR “Pure” products are made from renewable resources and are biodegradable. PAPSTAR is the first company worldwide which processes biodegradable packaging from the PAPSTAR pure brand together with food and kitchen waste with coffee grounds in their own composting facility into compost and returns this back to nature in the planted areas of our company.
We see this as proof of our vision and believe that this may be a feasible end-of-life option for packaging waste.
This will certainly require setting aside the ideological lenses! But also a change in the thinking of consumers and citizens regarding littering and the support of the collecting and sorting efforts of municipalities and dual systems.
It has always been our vision to equip a party, grill or street festival, sports or school celebration solely with compostable, disposable tableware and afterward, place all the waste – food and kitchen waste, coffee grounds, used disposable tableware as well as table decorations and serviettes – together in a composter, process it to compost and return it to nature.
PAPSTAR combines a comprehensive range of environmentally-conscious disposable tableware and service packaging under its pure brand name making this vision reality.
All pure products are 100% renewable and biodegradable.
The use of renewable and biodegradable raw materials has a long tradition at PAPSTAR. Only wood from sustainable forestry is used in the production of disposable tableware from the new “PAPSTAR pure” product line. The disposable cups in this product line are made from the bioplastic PLA. Disposable tableware is now an ecologically and economically sensible alternative.
